…our travel agency, Transilvania Tours has been operating in the Romanian travel business as a tour operator and has been dealing with many incoming travelers eager to discover this part of the world. The bulk of our clients are coming from Hungary but since 2001 we have started to promote our tours in other countries, too.

Groups of travelers from Germany, Holland, United States and Northern Europe are increasing their numbers proving that interest in the Carpathian Mountain region known as Transylvania has grown from a relatively naive knowledge of the Dracula inspired legend to a deepening understanding of the rich living folk-art (traditional crafts, costumes, folk music, dance and theatre) of this historical region.

…offered by our travel bureau facilitates customized adventures for travelers of all ages, small groups as well as large groups, while continuing to offer the unique opportunity to stay not only in high class and fancy hotels but also in village homes with local people. We arrange these homestays with families and in peasant hostels where the hospitality and the local cuisine offer memories hard to forget. Thus, visitors have the possibility to get acquainted with this area through its inhabiting people. This also offers the chance for personal contact with the history of Romanian, Hungarian, Saxon, German, and Gypsy peoples and cultures and all in an area where ancient Western and Eastern Christianity meet at the top of the world.

In the last years we have sometimes combined our Transylvanian tours in Romania with complementary ones in Hungary and Slovakia, thus giving our programs a complex Carpathian regional feature. All our tours are unique, tailor-made programs, according to each group's interest.
